Mr. Minesh Ratna Tamrakar is Chairman and Managing Partner (Earthquake Engineering) at Resilient Structures Private Limited. He was involved as a working committee and working group member in the revision of NBC 105: Seismic Design of Buildings in Nepal. Previously, he has worked at National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET), Vibor Properties Limited and Astra Development Network Private Limited as a structural engineer. He holds M. Sc. in Structural Engineering with distinction from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University (2009). He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the same university in 2002. He is involved in Seismic Vulnerability/ damage assessment and retrofit design of various buildings that have been damaged by recent 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. He has designed more than 60 buildings including apartment, hospital, school and office complexes. He is also actively involved in delivering trainings to engineers, sub-engineers, architects and masons on aspects of earthquake resistant design of buildings.
